Benfica are seeking to extend Rafael Quintas’ contract to 2031, but talks hinge on the sporting plan rather than salary. The 18-year-old has yet to feature for the B team this season, which clouds his immediate pathway. The club have already secured several Seixal graduates, yet this case remains open.
According to Glorioso 1904, the midfielder was named best player at the 2025 Under-17 Euros and later won the Under-17 World Cup. Benfica intend to mirror arrangements given to Anísio Cabral, Daniel Banjaqui and José Neto. He is viewed as one of the most promising talents of his generation.
The player wants to step into a more competitive environment next season, targeting regular minutes to aid his development and visibility.
A decision is expected in the summer and could also hinge on movement within the B team squad. Departures or promotions involving Diogo Prioste, Nuno Félix and Tomás Cruz may open room for him.
Overseas, Marseille and Eintracht Frankfurt are monitoring the situation, though no formal proposals have been lodged.
