Bernardo Paias nets first pro goal for Amazonas while on loan from Santos | OneFootball

On-loan Santos attacker Bernardo Paias scored his first professional goal for Amazonas in a 2-2 draw with Monte Roraima in the Copa Verde on Wednesday 29.

According to Diario Do Peixe, it came in his fifth appearance for the Amazonas club. His loan runs until the end of this year, and Santos renewed his contract to December 2027 before sanctioning the move.

He described the moment as special after working hard to reach this point. He said it boosts his confidence to keep improving and help Amazonas, and he hopes for many more to come in his career.

The 20-year-old has long been viewed as a prospect at Vila Belmiro. He joined Santos at nine and progressed through every age group to the under-20s, training at times with the first team. Under Fábio Carille he was registered for Serie B, but injuries prevented a debut.

His breakthrough year in the academy came in 2025, when he helped win the Paulista Under-20 and finished as Santos’ top scorer, also finding the net in the final against São Paulo. He totalled eight goals in 13 matches. This year he wore the No 10 in the Copinha, contributing four assists in five games.

After the Copa São Paulo campaign he aged out of youth football, and given his past injuries it was considered important for him to gain senior minutes elsewhere with a view to later use by Santos.
