Bernardo Silva has confirmed Barcelona is among his options this summer but insists he has yet to make a final decision on his next club.
Silva departed Manchester City as a free agent in May after nine illustrious, trophy-laden years at the Etihad Stadium, bringing to an end one of the most decorated careers in the club’s history.
Barcelona have been reported to have an agreement in principle to sign the Portugal international, though the 31-year-old’s latest comments suggest the situation is more open than previously reported.

Silva has indicated he will not rush a decision, with his focus having been on representing Portugal at the FIFA World Cup in north America before turning his attention to his club future in full.
As quoted by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Silva addressed his club future with the following words: “Barcelona is one of the options but I’ve not made any final decision yet.
“There are many options and I have respect for all interested clubs. In the end, I’m going to try to find a team where they want me, where I feel they really love me. That is very important and the day I make my decision they will know.”
Barcelona have long been considered the frontrunners for Silva’s signature, with the Portuguese having been open about his desire to return closer to his homeland at this stage of his career.
Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have also been credited with interest in the former City captain throughout the summer.
Silva’s emphasis on finding a club where he feels genuinely wanted echoes the language he used throughout his farewell at City, where he described the love he received from the club and supporters as something he doubted he would ever feel again.
Who could replace Bernardo Silva at Manchester City?
The 31-year-old is one of the most coveted free agents in European football this summer, with his age, quality and experience making him an attractive proposition for clubs across the continent’s top leagues.
A decision is expected after the World Cup concludes, with Silva having made clear he will make an announcement to his chosen club directly before any public confirmation follows.
