Besiktas lodge €10 million bid for Flamengo defender Léo Pereira | OneFootball

According to Globo.com, Flamengo have received a €10 million fixed bid from Besiktas of Türkiye for centre-back Léo Pereira, offering 100% of his economic rights. The proposal, worth R$58.14 million, is now with the board.

The Turkish club had already sounded out Flamengo over terms to take the player to Türkiye. For now, there is no wish to part with any starter under head coach Leonardo Jardim.

As with Emerson Royal, the defender intends to leave the decision to the club. Pereira is an undisputed pick in defence and was in Brazil’s squad at the last World Cup, though Carlo Ancelotti did not use him.

The board are considering rewarding the centre-back, either with a salary increase or an extension to his deal, which runs until the end of 2027. He has been on the same wages since January 2023, when he last renewed.

Flamengo are aware that, although he is 30, the player is in demand and had expected offers. While maintaining the core of the squad is the priority, a significant bid could open talks to ease cash flow and boost buying power in this window.

At the club since 2020, Pereira has made 306 appearances, scoring 19 goals and providing five assists, and has won 16 titles.
