Besiktas are ‘to bid’ €20 million plus add-ons for Vangelis Pavlidis, with Benfica only ready to talk at around €50 million, according to Yeni Asir.
The Istanbul club want to strengthen their attack for next season and view the Greek international, 27, as a priority. A summer exit for the forward has been anticipated.
Such a proposal would fall well short of the valuation set by Rui Costa’s board. Pavlidis is under contract until 2029 and has a €100 million release clause.
Besiktas maintain a close relationship with Benfica on transfers and are believed to have initiated exploratory contact over the striker. The club’s hierarchy also believe Benfica’s absence from the Champions League could increase pressure to raise funds this summer.
In 2025/26 Pavlidis made 53 appearances for Benfica, 33 in the Liga Portugal Betclic, 14 in the Champions League, three in the Taça de Portugal, two in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça. He played 4,244 minutes, scored 30 goals and supplied five assists, and is valued at €28 million.
