Billal Brahimi has rejoined Le Mans after terminating his contract with Santos. According to Globo.com, the Franco-Algerian forward returns to French football with Le Mans, who will play in the top flight.

There had been an expectation he would stay at Estrela da Amadora in Portugal, but he made only four appearances in recent months. He has opted to go back to Le Mans, where he enjoyed the best spell of his career in 2020 and 2021.

The deal runs until the end of June 2028, with an option for a further season. In his first stint he played 32 games, scoring 12 and providing 10 assists. He will wear the number 7 shirt.

This will be Le Mans’ seventh season in the French elite. They have not featured in the first division since 2009/2010, when they were relegated. Promotion was secured last season as runners-up in the second tier.

Brahimi joined Santos in September last year, but played only 26 minutes in a draw against Bragantino in the 25th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro that season.

In 2026, though registered for the Campeonato Paulista and the Campeonato Brasileiro, he did not feature. In February he was loaned to Estrela da Amadora.

He had been under contract at Santos until the end of this year. With the termination, the club estimates savings of up to R$ 8 million.
