Pumas equalized in the 37’ with Guillermo Martínez taking advantage of a rebound, following a shot from Adalberto Carrasquilla, and striking from inside the penalty area.

Martínez had two dangerous opportunities for the hosts with headers inside the box in the 48’ and 58’, but his attempts were met by saves from Whitecaps goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka.

Pumas came close to scoring through Ignacio Pussetto in the 73’, but his shot was high above the crossbar.

Pussetto gave Pumas the lead in the 88’, sending the ball to the back of the net from close range.

Tristan Blackmon headed home a cross from Édier Ocampo in the 90+3’ to tie the match 2-2 and win the series for the Canadian side in dramatic fashion on away goals.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC advances to the semifinals of the CCC for the first time. The Canadian club will meet fellow MLS side Inter Miami CF in the semifinals.
