Tottenham booked their place in the UEFA Europa League final with a commanding 0-2 victory over Bodø/Glimt at Aspmyra Stadion, sealing a 5-1 aggregate triumph. Second-half goals from Dominic Solanke and Pedro Porro ensured a comfortable evening for Ange Postecoglou’s side, who will now head to Bilbao on 21 May for the final.

There, they will face Premier League rivals Manchester United – setting up an all-English showdown after United cruised past Athletic Club in the other semi-final.

As it happened

Spurs entered the second leg with a two-goal cushion and largely managed proceedings throughout the first half without ever needing to hit top gear. The home side created a handful of moments, most notably through captain Patrick Berg and winger Ole Blomberg, but failed to convert any of their promising forays into goals.

Pedro Porro came closest to opening the scoring with a curling free-kick that Nikita Haikin did well to tip over, while Hakon Evjen and Jens Petter Hauge were lively down the flanks for Bodø/Glimt. At the other end, Richarlison and Destiny Udogie had chances before the break, but Spurs failed to find the cutting edge.

The visitors stepped up a gear after the interval, and the breakthrough came in the 63rd minute. A Tel corner was met at the far post by Cristian Romero, whose cushioned header across goal was turned in from close range by Solanke for his fifth Europa League goal of the campaign.

Just six minutes later, the tie was effectively over. A slick counterattack saw Dejan Kulusevski square to Porro, who let fly from distance. His spectacular, dipping strike crashed off the inside of the post and in – his second stunner in this European run.

Bodø/Glimt kept battling and nearly grabbed a consolation through Sondre Sørli, but Vicario preserved his clean sheet with a sharp stop. The hosts thought they had won a late penalty, only for VAR to overturn the decision after replays showed Porro had cleanly taken the ball.

Spurs saw out the final minutes with composure to reach their first European final since 2019 – and will now look ahead to Bilbao with silverware in their sights.
