Boniface Furious at Milan After Collapse of Blockbuster Serie A Switch
Nigerian international Victor Boniface's expressed deep frustration & anger after AC Milan pulled out of his transfer due to failed medical tests.
The 23 year old striker'd agreed personal terms with Milan and secured Bayer Leverkusen’s approval for paid loan with an option to buy at 30 million euro. However after 2 day of extensive medical examinations, the Rossoneri abandoned the move over concerns regarding his injury history.
Boniface returned to Germany and took to Instagram to vent. In fiery story post, he mocked critics questioning his professionalism:
"I’m at club like Bayer Leverkusen, Milan want me and people say I’m not serious. If I was serious, I’d be playing for club on planet Jupiter"
He added sarcastically:
"If this's what being unserious looks like then leave me like this. I’ll keep scoring. Clowns everywhere"
The club’s doubts centered around Boniface’s past knee ligament surgery in 2020 and recurring muscle injuries. Despite these concerns, the striker's thrived at Leverkusen scoring 22 goal in 42 appearances since 2023.
With Boniface off the table, Milan've shifted focus to alternatives. Reports suggest approach for Sporting Lisbon striker Conrad Harder valued at 27m euros. Serbian forward Dusan Vlahovic remains top target but Juventus are unwilling to sell cheaply.
Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes hinted at the deal’s fragility before it collapsed:
"If Boniface returns to Leverkusen, the deal with Milan's over. Renegotiation? I don’t think so. His condition has improved compared to before"
The failed move adds pressure on Milan after a poor Serie A start and complicates plans to strengthen their attack.
