The last two days have seen FC Barcelona closely linked with the German forward Karim Adeyemi and his signing is surprisingly looking to be already quite close. The Blaugranes have an agreement in place with the player, and now only need to reach an agreement with his club, Borussia Dortmund, to make him the third new addition to their attack, after already having signed Anthony Gordon and Hamza Abdelkarim.
As far as Adeyemi is concerned, the Catalans have seen their first offer, of €20 million, for him rejected by Dortmund. However, negotiations have not broken off, and the two clubs can still arrive at an agreement that satisfies both of them quite soon.
While it remains to be seen when and whether this agreement would be reached, a report from Mundo Deportivo highlights one factor that hints at the German club’s readiness to part ways with Adeyemi. The report cites Sky Sports Germany to claim that Borussia Dortmund are in negotiations with another German forward, Said El Mala, to replace Adeyemi.
The Koln forward is very keen to join the black and yellow side but an agreement is yet to be reached with his club, and thus, the situation between him and Dortmund is quite similar to the one between Barcelona and Adeyemi.
It remains to be seen how both of these operations would end up, but the fact that Said El Mala has a profile quite similar to Karim Adeyemi make it clear that Dortmund are looking at him as a replacement for the latter.
This is definitely an encouraging sign for Barcelona, but they will still have to overcome the difficult stage of negotiating with Borussia Dortmund and landing their desired forward. Meanwhile, their top transfer far for the summer still remains the Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez.
