Borussia Dortmund reject third Chelsea offer for Jamie Gittens | OneFootball

Sky Germany report that Borussia Dortmund have rejected Chelsea’s €55m offer for Jamie Gittens. The Premier League club had opened the bidding at €35m which was swiftly rejected before a €50m approach was also rebuffed. The transfer window ahead of the Club World Cup has also ended which means the Englishman will travel to the USA with Dortmund for the upcoming tournament.

Borussia Dortmund are holding out for a fee closer to €65m for Gittens, who scored four goals and provided four assists in 32 Bundesliga games for die Schwarzgelben last season. Sky Germany further report that Gittens has agreed a long-term contract in principle with Chelsea, which will run until 2032 with negotiations between the two clubs set to resume during the summer window.

It’s the latest setback for Chelsea in their pursuit of an attacker with the Premier League side unwilling to meet Eintracht Frankfurt’s €100m valuation of Hugo Ekitike.
