Borussia Mönchengladbach

Gladbach have started the Bundesliga season poorly, having picked up just two points thus far.

Gerardo Seoane lost his job, and there are still no signs of an uptick in form as of yet. Rumours surrounding the future of star striker Tim Kleindienst have not eased concerns this week - neither has the departure of sporting CEO Roland Virkus following a 6-4 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Die Fohlenelf are simply desperate for points, and they will be hoping to catch Freiburg on an off day after the visitors' trip to Bologna on Thursday.

Team News

To make matters worse for Gladbach, the injury list is not getting any smaller. Tim Kleindienst, Nathan N'Goumou, Franck Honorat, Gio Reyna and Robin Hack all remain out - leaving interim manager Eugen Polanski with a threadbare squad.

Predicted lineup - 4-3-2-1: Nicolas - Scally, Diks, Elvedi, Netz - Engelhardt, Sander, Reitz - Castrop, Neuhaus - Tabakovic

Freiburg

Freiburg are heading into the weekend after drawing 1-1 twice in a week, while they will be much happier with the result in Bologna compared to last week's home draw against Hoffenheim.

After two successive losses to start the season, things are looking much better in Breisgau, with Julian Schuster's men beginning to match the expectations set after an excellent campaign last year.

With the European fixture list really taking shape now, the question will remain as to whether Freiburg can balance the added midweek football and remain competitive in the Bundesliga.

Team News

Cyriaque Irie will miss this weekend's fixture through illness, while Daniel-Kofi Kyereh remains out until October.

Phillip Lienhart returned to the backline in Emilia Romagna on Thursday - he will be expected to start on Sunday.

Johan Manzambi will be back involved after serving a two-match ban due to a high challenge in the 3-1 win against Stuttgart.

Predicted lineup - 4-2-3-1: Atubolu - Treu, Ginter, Lienhart, Makengo - Eggestein, Osterhage - Beste, Manzambi, Grifo - Höler
