Botafogo end away slump as Barboza heads winner

Botafogo beat RB Bragantino 2-1 in the Brasileirão at Estádio Cícero de Souza Marques, halting a four-match league slump and climbing from 18th to 15th.
Joaquín Correa drew a penalty after Gabriel fouled him in the area. VAR confirmed the spot kick, and Alex Telles converted from the spot in the eighth minute. Lucas Barbosa levelled from close range after Henry Mosquera's cross following a corner (15.).
Mosquera then had a finish ruled out after a VAR review (24.). After the restart, Alexander Barboza rose to glance in Danilo's delivery from a corner for the winner (71.).
Raul Steffens made five saves as Fogão protected their lead. Late on, Isidro Pitta's header was saved and Braga forced a sequence of corners, but the visitors held firm.
Braga saw more of the ball with 59.4% possession and tallied 18 attempts. Fogão mustered eight attempts and cleared their lines 31 times.
Next, Braga host Flamengo. Fogão visit Athletico Paranaense.
