Botafogo host Mirassol in the Brasileirão on Wednesday, 1 April 2026 at Nilton Santos, with both sides in the relegation places and level on points as they chase a reset.

Botafogo and Mirassol drew both of their previous Brasileirão meetings, a 3-3 in Rio and a goalless stalemate. They start this round 17th and 18th respectively, each on six points.

Fogão come in with four defeats in their past five across competitions, the exception a 2-1 win at RB Bragantino, and they were beaten 4-1 at Athletico Paranaense last time out. Mirassol are winless in five, taking one point in that run with a 2-2 draw against Santos.

Availability could bite. For the hosts, Allan, Fernando Marçal, Joaquín Correa, Kaio Fernando Da Silva Pantaleao, Chris Ramos and Newton are injured, while Alexander Barboza is suspended. Mirassol are without Reinaldo through suspension.

Glorioso have scored 11 and conceded 16 in seven league games. Mirassol have eight for and 10 against. With both defences having leaked goals, the game may hinge on who manages the key moments better, with fine margins likely given the recent head to head draws.

A win would take either team to nine points and could lift them out of the relegation places. A draw would keep both close to the drop zone, while defeat would deepen the pressure at the bottom.
