Towards the end of February, Bournemouth looked like a team with a genuine chance of finishing in a Champions League qualifying position. They were in the middle of an impressive run, 10 wins in 15 matches at that point in all competitions.
But since then, Bournemouth’s season has been derailed. They are now winless in their last eight matches across all competitions, a run that also saw them crash out of the FA Cup in the quarter-finals.
This poor form has seen Andoni Iraola’s side drop to 10th in the Premier League table, now 10 points adrift of the final Champions League qualifying spot. With 12th-placed Crystal Palace just two points behind, Bournemouth are at risk of not even finishing inside the top 10.
Up next for them is Fulham, who sits three points ahead in eighth. A win at the Vitality Stadium would see Bournemouth leapfrog the visitors into that position.
Things have not gone well for Arrizabalaga or the team in recent weeks. But he remains the first-choice goalkeeper and has made some impressive saves this season.
The club captain returned from injury in late March and is trusted for his experience and defensive discipline.
Zabarnyi is one of the most trusted players under Andoni Iraola, ranked in the top two for clearances and blocks per game.
A player who will have many suitors in the upcoming summer transfer window, Huijsen has been one of Bournemouth’s standout defenders. He leads the team in clearances, blocks, and interceptions per 90 minutes.
The Hungary international’s overlapping runs and aggressive defending are key components of Bournemouth’s style of play.
The USMNT star’s ball-winning ability will be crucial in breaking up Fulham’s build-up play, especially at home, where the Cherries must set the tone in midfield.
Cook’s ability to control possession and dictate tempo was a vital part of Bournemouth’s earlier good run. They’ll need him to rediscover that form quickly.
Home fans will be hoping Ouattara’s speed and unpredictability can trouble Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson, who often pushes high up the pitch.
With Justin Kluivert sidelined Scott is once again expected to fill the role behind the striker. Bournemouth will need a strong performance from him in this crucial match.
Semenyo’s physicality, pace, and relentless work rate make him one of Bournemouth’s most important attacking players, especially in Kluivert’s continued absence.
The Brazilian striker has been in good form since returning from injury. He netted a brace last time out against West Ham and will once again be tasked with leading the line and getting Bournemouth back to winning ways.
