Brazil’s women’s national team staff will track Corinthians at the Copa das Campeãs in London, the first Women’s Club World Cup, with coach Arthur Elias and coordinator Cris Gambaré travelling on Monday.
According to Lance!, the pair are heading to England for the tournament after attending Sunday’s launch of the 2027 Women’s World Cup brand and sonic identity in Rio de Janeiro, which will be staged in Brazil.
Elias led the Brabas from 2016 to 2023 and Gambaré oversaw the women’s set-up across the same period, leaving the club in 2024.
Corinthians face Gotham FC on Wednesday, 28, at half past nine Brasília time. The winners will meet Arsenal or AS FAR in the final on the first of February, and Gotham are the reigning Concacaf and NWSL champions.
The Brazil staff will also watch Gotham’s Brazilians, full-back Bruninha and forward Gabi Portilho, the latter a former Corinthians player.
Corinthians are based at Barnet FC’s facilities, home to a club in England’s fourth division, with their final training session scheduled for Tuesday morning.
