Brazil continue their World Cup campaign against Haiti in need of a better showing after a stuttering start.
A 1-1 draw against Morocco was secured thanks to Vinicius Jr’s fine solo goal, but a middling performance may not have much pleased Carlo Ancelotti. The Brazilians remain without record scorer Neymar as he nurses a calf injury, though there are other issues to solve if the five-time winners are to go deep in their search for a sixth crown.
Haiti will not have delusions of that grandeur but impressed plenty with the manner in which they took the game to Scotland on their World Cup return. A first win at the tournament remains elusive but this will be a special day given a closer bond between the nations than might instantly be evident, with Brazil playing Haiti 22 years ago in a “Match for Peace” in front of a packed crowd in Port-au-Prince.
