Brentford have won only one of their last eight meetings with Brighton, albeit the Seagulls have won only three of their last 13 clashes in West London.
These two sides both find themselves just below the European positions, meaning both are in need of a win come Saturday. Of the pair, Brighton & Hove Albion's European aspirations are significantly more realistic, considering they kick off five points above their hosts. However, the Seagulls' top eight hopes suffering a real set back last weekend, only able to draw 2-2 with struggling Leicester at home, despite leading twice through João Pedro's double. Fabian Hürzeler's team are now without a win in four, thereby dropping out of the European spots, and with games against Newcastle, Liverpool and Tottenham to come, they may feel that this is must win.
Brentford meantime need to start putting together a succession of victories if they're to keep their slim European aspirations alive. A week ago, Yoane Wissa's spectacular equaliser helped the Bees hold Arsenal to a 1-1 draw, but this means the Bees have only won one of their last six. At home, Thomas Frank's team are without a win in eight, so can they end this barren streak?
Gustavo Nunes came off the bench at Arsenal, making his long-awaited debut after injury, hoping to see some action in front of his home supporters this time. Nevertheless, Thomas Frank could name an unchanged lineup, with Sepp van den Berg getting the nod over Ethan Pinnock in defence.
Brentford predicted lineup vs Brighton & Hove Albion: (4-2-3-1): Flekken; Ajer, Collins, van den Berg, Lewis-Potter; Nørgaard, Janelt, Damsgaard; Mbeumo, Wissa, Schade.
Yoane Wissa's goal last weekend took his tally to 16 for the season, although he's never previously scored in six meetings with Brighton.
For the visitors, their injury list remains extensive, although Jan Paul van Hecke can return following a one-match suspension, allowing Carlos Baleba to return to midfield. Igor, Adam Webster, Tariq Lamptey, Ferdi Kadıoğlu, Joël Veltman, James Milner, Kaoru Mitoma and Georginio Rutter remain sidelined.
Brighton & Hove Albion predicted lineup vs Brentford: (4-3-3): Verbruggen; Hinshelwood, Dunk, van Hecke, Estupiñán; Baleba, Ayari, Minteh, Adingra; João Pedro, Welbeck.
João Pedro's double last weekend means he's now scored ten times this season, although he's aiming to score against Brentford for the very first time.
We are forecasting a high-scoring draw. The Gtech Community Stadium has been the place to be to see goals this season, a trend we're expecting will continue: Brentford 2-2 Brighton & Hove Albion.
