Brighton's Tom Watson looks set for a loan move away from the Amex this January after a lack of game time with the Seagulls

Brighton and Hove Albion winger Tom Watson looks set for a January departure from the Amex Stadium, with a loan move being touted for the 19-year-old, as a host of Championship clubs circle.

Having netted the late winner that sent Sunderland to the Premier League against Sheffield United in the play-off final, the teenage attacker's minutes at Brighton have been quite sparse.

The winger agreed a £10 million move to Premier League side Brighton prior to netting the Black Cats' dramatic winner, something which he may well be regretting now, given his lack of game time for the Seagulls.

Watson scored twice in 20 Championship appearances for Sunderland last season, with both goals coming at home against Stoke City, and having put his name up in lights at Wembley, has made just six league appearances for Brighton since his switch, all coming from the bench.

He has scored one and assisted three in the EFL Cup, though now, according to Pete O'Rourke via X, the England youth international looks set for a loan move away this winter, and FLW has identified these three clubs as potential destinations for him.

3 ? ? Bristol City

Bristol City are all of a sudden very light on attacking numbers following the departures of Yu Hirakawa to Hull City and Anis Mehmeti to Ipswich Town.

The Robins have also seemingly missed out on the signing of Dutch forward Delano Burgzorg, with the Dutchman now seemingly set to stay at Middlesbrough amid rumours that he could be leaving.

Since his arrival at Ashon Gate, Struber has more often than not adopted a 3-4-2-1 shape, with Mehmeti and Twine often the two playing in behind the striker, and following the departure of Mehmeti, a vacancy has opened in the Bristol City attack.

Although Watson is more of an out-and-out winger, his ability to control the ball and take players on makes him dangerous in between the lines, and he could adapt to a slightly central role if required.

Bristol City need attacking reinforcements, and Watson could prove to be a good fit if he is able to adapt to the Robins' shape, as it is unlikely that Struber will change his shape to compensate for him.

2 ? ? Derby County

Speaking exclusively to FLW all the way back in October, Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie tipped Watson to be a 'nice fit' for Derby County, and that doesn't seem to have changed.

Like Struber, Derby boss John Eustace has preferred to line up with a back three more often than not, but has shown he is willing to change shape, as seen in their back-to-back wins recently over Preston North End and Charlton Athletic, where he deployed a 4-2-3-1 shape.

Ben Brereton Diaz, Patrick Agyemang and Corey Blackett-Taylor have all played off the left this season in that system for Derby, and Eustace may look to target another player in that area, if he is to use that formation more often moving forward.

Watson is in desperate need of game time, and Derby could prove to be the perfect fit for him, with the Rams within touching distance of the top six this campaign.

Since Philippe Clement took charge at Carrow Road following the sacking of Liam Manning, Norwich City's fortunes have massively improved, with performances and results seeing a huge positive increase.

For the first time in months, the Canaries are out of the relegation zone, with five wins in their last eight league games, including a 5-0 thumping away at West Brom.

However, they remain far from safe, and cannot afford to become complacent anytime soon,

Following the addition of Canadian winger Ali Ahmed, who scored in the 5-0 win over West Brom, the Canaries should not look to be done in investing in attacking options - especially out wide.

Ante Crnac, Jeffrey Schlupp, Papa Diallo, and Forson Amankwah have all spent time in the treatment room this season, whilst Matej Jurasek has struggled since his arrival from Slavia Prague.

Tony Springett was recalled to the side by Clement to play off the right, but you'd be forgiven for thinking that the Irishman is going to be a long-term option at Championship level - and could do a lot worse than complete a loan swoop for Watson.

The former Sunderland man would add some fearlessness and drive off the left flank, and may prove to be the attacking spark required to see the Canaries fly away from danger.
