Sunderland kept their home run going while Crystal Palace lost again thanks to Brian Brobbey's winner.
Palace last won a league game in early December and there was extra focus on Oliver Glasner after he announced his departure at the end of the season.
The Eagles did take the lead in this one though with half an hour gone in the game when Sunderland weren't able to deal with a corner that Yeremy Pino got a toe on to divert into the net.
That lead didn't last long though. In the 33th minute Nordi Mukiele put in a low ball that Palace failed to clear allowing Enzo Le Fée to slot the ball past Dean Henderson.
Jean-Philippe Mateta briefly thought he put his side ahead just before the break with an excellent finish only for his goal to be ruled out for offside.
Sunderland completed the comeback in the 71st minute thanks to a brilliant finish by Brobbey. The Dutch striker had to adjust his feet well to toe poke an effort into the roof of the net.
Brobbey looked like he hurt himself in the process but was able to continue for a little while longer as Sunderland held out for all three points.
