Bruno Genesio set to be named Marseille manager | OneFootball

Bruno Genesio’s exit from Lille OSC was confirmed last week. He now looks set to take the job at Olympique de Marseille, as per a report from Foot Mercato.

Despite leading LOSC back into the UEFA Champions League, Genesio will not lead them on their European campaign. The Frenchman’s contract was up at the end of the season. There had been previous reports of tension between him and club president Olivier Létang, and when asked about his future with LOSC, Genesio had struck a negative tone, stating that there were no signs of an extension. 

His exit was then confirmed last week. But he looks set to quickly bounce back. Habib Beye succeeded Roberto De Zerbi in the role in February, but failed to meet the two objectives set. He failed to ensure UEFA Champions League qualification and did not qualify the club for the semi-finals of the Coupe de France. 

His exit has yet to be confirmed but Foot Mercato understands that it will be Genesio who replaces him. There are only a few details to iron out before confirmation.
