Bruno Spindel ends talks to become a Corinthians director

On the morning of this Saturday (27), professional Bruno Spindel released an official statement confirming the end of talks to become a Corinthians executive in 2026. The former Flamengo executive took this step due to the lack of response from the alvinegro board regarding the contract available for signing.

Right after Fabinho Soldado’s mutually agreed departure, Corinthians went to the market to hire another executive for the club’s professional football department. Among the shortlisted names, Bruno Spindel accepted the offer and was waiting for the formalization of the agreement.

Read the statement released by the professional:

“With the aim of putting an end to speculation and false information, I clarify that, after expressing agreement with the proposal presented to me by Sport Club Corinthians Paulista to take on the position of Director of Professional Football, I consider the negotiations with the club to be closed.

The decision is due to the absence of the formal contract being forwarded for signing within a reasonable period, as previously agreed.”

Amid negotiations to hire Bruno Spindel, Corinthians was also inquiring about Paulinho, who works as an executive at Mirassol, the sensation of the 2025 Brasileirão season. However, the former midfielder is expected to continue the project started at the interior club and has already resumed activities and planning for the next season.

In addition to the alvinegro idol, Corinthians also inquired about Alessandro Brito, current director of sports management at Botafogo, but negotiations did not progress. The alvinegro board then began to prioritize Bruno Spindel, who left Flamengo in August this year after almost a decade at the Rio de Janeiro club.

Corinthians remains without an executive to lead the football department, which also does not have a statutory director, and still has issues to resolve before the transfer window opens, such as the transfer ban due to non-payment in the purchase of defender Félix Torres.
