Bryan Mbeumo will turn down interest from rival clubs in favour of Manchester United if the Red Devils can agree a deal with Brentford.
Manchester United are interested in signing the Brentford winger, who has just 12 months remaining on his contract in West London. Several sides have expressed interest in the Cameroonian, who scored 20 Premier League goals last season and provided eight further assists.
Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Newcastle United have all made enquiries, but The Athletic are reporting that Mbeumo has indicated his preference for Manchester United.
It would represent a significant signing for Ruben Amorim’s side, who failed to secure European qualification for next season. United have already agreed the £62.5m signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves and are set to step up efforts for Mbeumo.
The 25-year-old fits the profile of player being sought this summer, as Amorim looks to raise the physicality of the team. In addition to clocking one of the fastest speeds in the Premier League, Mbeumo also ranked fourth in 2024/25 for overall number of sprints.
Brentford value the winger at around £50m and Thomas Frank admitted last month that Mbeumo would be sold if a suitable offer arrives.
“If the right price — and that’s going to be expensive — is coming, then I’m sure the club will be open to it,” Frank told Sky Sports.
