The third goal arrived on 37 minutes after France lost the ball while pushing forward. Marcus Rashford ran clear and Mike Maignan saved his effort, but the rebound fell to Saka. His first shot struck Maxence Lacroix, Rashford recycled the ball and cut it back for Saka to finish for 0-3.

On 45+1, Saka struck again. Released through the middle by Eberechi Eze, he controlled and guided a left-footed cross-shot into the far corner beyond Maignan for 4-0.

France struggled to regain control in that torrid spell, England’s ruthlessness left them reeling at the interval.
