On Thursday, the DFL released the Bundesliga schedule for the 2026–27 season. FC Bayern faces some interesting challenges right from the start—including the season opener against VfB Stuttgart and the classic match against Borussia Dortmund.
After it was already confirmed that FC Bayern would kick off the new Bundesliga season on August 28 with the opening match against VfB Stuttgart, the DFL has now released the complete schedule for the 2026/27 season.
Vincent Kompany’s team faces several exciting matches right from the start.
The Munich side will play their first home game of the season on Friday, August 28 (8:30 p.m.), against VfB Stuttgart at the Allianz Arena.
This will be followed immediately by two away games. First, the German record champions will visit Bundesliga returnee FC Schalke 04, before traveling to SV Elversberg for the very first time in a Bundesliga match.
To kick off Oktoberfest, Bayern will then host Union Berlin in Munich before the first international break of the season.
The first matchup with Borussia Dortmund will take place on Matchday 8 at the Allianz Arena. The classic is scheduled for the weekend of October 30 through November 1.
In early December, FC Bayern will also host Bundesliga returnee SC Paderborn.
The Munich side will play their final competitive match of the calendar year against Werder Bremen on the weekend of December 18–20.
After the winter break, the defending champions will face a midweek schedule right away. First, Bayern will travel to face Borussia Mönchengladbach, before hosting Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena during the week.
The first half of the season concludes with an away match at Eintracht Frankfurt. One week later, the second half of the season kicks off with an away match at VfB Stuttgart.
Bayern’s final away game of the season will take them to Leverkusen on Matchday 33.
To close out the 2026–27 Bundesliga season, Vincent Kompany’s team will host Eintracht Frankfurt at the Allianz Arena on May 22, 2027. As usual, all matches on Matchday 34 will kick off simultaneously at 3:30 p.m.
The DFL plans to announce the exact kickoff times for the first Bundesliga matchdays in the coming weeks. These will be determined, among other factors, by the schedules of European competitions.
