West Ham experienced a difficult opening day against Sunderland at the weekend where they received a 3-0 thrashing by Regis Le Bris’ side.

Since the defeat, West Ham have stepped up their game in the market and they are working on several fronts to add new faces to Graham Potter’s squad.

The Hammers are looking to strengthen their forward department and they have yet to bring in a replacement for Mohammed Kudus, who left this summer.

However, they are set to face stiff competition for his signature as his former club Napoli and Torino are keen to take him back to Italy.

Italian champions Napoli and Torino both went in with an offer to the German club to take him on loan with an option to buy.

However, Leipzig have rejected those offers as they want to sell the player on a permanent transfer, according to German daily Bild.

It is suggested that the Bundesliga outfit want a fee in the region of €20m to let the Macedonian winger leave.

Last season, Elmas only made two appearances for Leipzig before he left on loan to join Torino and he netted four goals in 13 appearances for them.

His stock remains high in Serie A, where he previously also played for Napoli, and West Ham may have work to do to beat Italian sides to his signature.
