Julen Lopetegui is set for a huge task as West Ham host Liverpool tomorrow evening in the Premier League.
It’s a shift from facing a side bottom of the league in Southampton, who West Ham were fortunate to beat 1-0 on Boxing Day.
However, Liverpool are top of the league and in formidable form this season, which has many worried that our Hammers are in for a very tough afternoon in east London.
Julen Lopetegui though is trying to lean towards the positives, staying that his side are in good form and have confidence going into the fixture against Arne Slots team.
“To make it eight points from a possible 12, we handled a very tough match and we handled big problems with injuries and this kind of situation,” the Head Coach told the club’s Official Website.
“So, we have to keep with this mentality and to be ready for the next challenge that is going to be enormous.”
Liverpool is a daunting task for a West Ham side that have been in poor form through much of the season so far, with a hugely improved display needed if we are to stand any chance.
“With Liverpool we are talking about the best team in the Premier League by far, at the moment,” added Lopetegui. “So we know we need to be aware of their threats and be ready, just like we have to be for every game in this division.
“We are not afraid of them, but we do respect them, like all of the teams. They have top players, a very good coach, and they are doing very well at the top of the league right now.
