After a two-week suspension for refusing to travel to Tanzania, Emam Ashour is now eligible to rejoin the squad. The Egyptian international is expected at Al Ahly's training center as early as Thursday, February 12, 2026.

That chapter is now closed. Emam Ashour had been handed a two-week suspension along with a record fine of 1.5 million Egyptian pounds for refusing to travel with the team to Tanzania to face Young Africans on Saturday, January 31.

The Egyptian midfielder has served his suspension and is expected back with the squad this Thursday to resume training. He is now available for Jess Thorup's selection for the sixth matchday of the CAF Champions League against AS FAR.

His participation will be decided by the coach, who has emphasized discipline, stating: “The player made a mistake. I said it on my very first day here: no one is above the team.”

Al Ahly leads Group B with 9 points. Already qualified, the Red Devils need at least a draw against their Moroccan opponents this Sunday, February 15, 2026 (16:00 GMT), to secure top spot.
