Inter Milan returned home from Sardinia with three points, but La Gazzetta dello Sport urged caution in its assessment of Cristian Chivu’s team in the win against Cagliari.
The Nerazzurri defeated Cagliari 2-0 thanks to goals from Lautaro Martinez and Pio Esposito, who netted his first Serie A goal.
The Gazzetta, via FCInterNews, summed up the night as:
“Without exaltation but with method, Inter move back into the upper reaches of the table.”
While the result extended Inter’s winning streak, concerns remain over the inability to kill games off earlier.

According to La Gazzetta, the team’s struggles to close out matches are a “probable price to pay for the transition from the old coach to the new.”
Chivu’s Inter is described as a work in progress.
Caught between the remnants of Simone Inzaghi’s style and a new push for aggression and vertical play.
The newspaper pointed out that Lautaro’s opener came from a Bastoni cross, “an Inzaghian trace.”
Meanwhile the coach’s quick substitutions of booked players, such as Carlos Augusto and Barella, echoed habits from the previous regime.
