Milan Futuro have a long away trip ahead of them as they travel down to Campobasso for their rearranged Serie C matchday 15 fixture, which was initially scheduled for the most recent international window. The game kicks off at 20:00 CET at the Avicor Stadium Selvapiana.
LATEST FROM MILAN FUTURO Following their tricky trip to Terni, the Rossoneri are going into their fifth game in 14 days in all competitions. With a number of absences to contend with, tiredness certainly could be a factor, but these trying circumstances could be an opportunity for growth for Bonera's boys. The aim is to win away (in the league) for the first time since Perugia on 27 October and climb back up the table ahead of Sunday's home game against Gubbio. Milan Futuro will need to put in a mature and brave performance, as a win would see them leapfrog Sestri Levante and start the climb away from the play-out places.
COACH BONERA PRE-MATCH STATEMENTS You're returning to action after the match against Ternana. Are you ready? "We want to get back out there, and the match against Campobasso allows us to do so immediately. It's a midweek match that can help us mentally as we look to demonstrate what we do every day in training. I must say I'm very satisfied with the lads and the work we do during the week."
What are you expecting from this rearranged league clash against Campobasso? "We'll be up against a strong side that want to reach the playoffs and give those at the top end of the table something to think about. There aren't any easy matches in this league, and tomorrow won't be easy either. However, we can also have our say and demonstrate our technical quality."
Will there be changes to the team? "We'll see who starts tomorrow. What I can say is that we've managed to get a few players back fit in the past few days. This will allow me to have a few more options both from the beginning and during the match in terms of substitutions."
In a press conference today, Campobasso's vice president spoke about them deserving more respect after certain match incidents. Have you watched their recent matches with the lads? "Yes, we watched the matches together, as well as the incidents that I think Campobasso's vice president was referring to. Of course, my role as coach requires me to prepare the team technically and tactically, but I also have to make my players understand the kind of environment we'll face in every match, and tomorrow's will be a heated one. We'll be ready to battle and will try to impose our game without fear. Every team in this league deserves respect, including Milan Futuro."
LATEST FROM CAMPOBASSO Two AC Milan Primavera products feature in the Campobasso squad: the 1999-born Riccardo Forte, who has 2 goals and 2 assists this season, and the defender Marco Bosisio (2002), unavailable like Bigonzoni due to injury. Campobasso lost 2-1 at home to Rimini last time out, which was preceded by a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Pescara. These two losses halted a 10-game unbeaten run which saw the Molise-based outfit move to 23 points (11 more than Milan Futuro), comfortably in the play-off spots for the time being. Braglia's side, usually deployed in a 3-4-3 or a 3-4-1-2, have two of the league's leading goalscorers this season in Di Stefano and Di Nardo.
Campobasso vice president Nicola Cirrincione had the following to say ahead of the game: "We’re a newly promoted side in a very tough league. Before our two recent defeats, we went ten unbeaten. We’ll play to win, and the lads can’t wait to take to the pitch. We’ll be up against a young side representing one of the best clubs in the world, and they’ll give us something to think about."
