Kalaba: "Morocco has every chance to win CAN 2025"

Zambian football legend and former TP Mazembe star, Rainford Kalaba, has revealed his main favorite to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco from December 21 to January 18.

In statements to the Egyptian website (Btolat), Kalaba acknowledged that several African teams have what it takes to aim for continental glory, but he believes Morocco holds a clear advantage.

Asked about the main challengers to the host nation, the former Zambian international said: "Several teams are capable of winning the CAN, but Morocco has a significant edge. They'll be playing at home and benefit from extensive experience at this level."

The Moroccan squad boasts a solid and experienced roster, featuring renowned players such as Achraf Hakimi, Sofyan Amrabat, Brahim Diaz, Abde Ezzalzouli, and goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.

Furthermore, the 2012 Africa Cup winner with Zambia also commented on his country's preparations for this 35th edition of the CAN. "Preparation is going well. The team is a balanced mix of young talents and experienced players," he explained.

Kalaba concluded by emphasizing the importance of focus: "There is a real chance to go far in the tournament, but every match must be approached with the utmost seriousness."
