France became the first team to reach the 2026 World Cup semi-finals after strolling to a 2-0 triumph over Morocco on Thursday.
The African giants were expected to pose a tough test for the 2018 champions, but goals from Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele settled the game.
France are now the overwhelming favourites to lift the trophy on July 19. Their attacking firepower is terrifying, while their defence is rock solid.
Didier Deschamps’ side cruised through the group stage, beating Senegal, Iraq and Norway without breaking a sweat.
Sweden were then put to the sword in the round of 32, with Mbappe wreaking havoc on their defenders.
The question on everyone’s mind is whether any team can stop France’s relentless march to the World Cup trophy.
Argentina, Spain and England are the other top favourites, but they may struggle to contain France.
Teams will have to contend not only with Mbappe but also with the collective might of Dembele, Michael Olise and Desire Doue.
Paraguay showed this can be achieved in the round of 16, as they frustrated France for over an hour before Mbappe delivered the decisive breakthrough from the penalty spot.
However, Paraguay’s display was equally defined by their use of football’s dark arts to disrupt the opposition’s rhythm.
Confidence will be sky-high in France’s camp, as they prepare to meet either Spain or Belgium in the World Cup semi-final.
Spain have massively improved in the tournament since suffering a shock 0-0 draw against Cape Verde in their opening game.
They haven’t conceded a single goal in their five games and are expected to prevail over Belgium on Friday.
