Latest news from Bayern

“We’re riding a positive wave right now and want to keep it positive for as long as possible,” said captain Manuel Neuer after Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over Chelsea in the Champions League. That excellent display ensured Bayern’s record this season remains a flawless six wins from six in all competitions, but it’s also the team’s exciting style of play and attack that’s helped build confidence. Now it’s Hoffenheim’s turn to try to stop the Munich scoring machine.

Read up on the facts ahead of the match:

Vincent Kompany’s men have already scored 14 goals in their three Bundesliga games this season and haven’t lost a domestic league fixture in 2025. “The most important thing in the current development is that we also win against Hoffenheim. We’re scoring lots of goals but have to keep working hard to maintain this momentum,” the head coach said on Friday.

Opponent: Hoffenheim

“There are dangers lurking in this match. Hoffenheim won all their pre-season friendlies, in the cup and have always performed well,” Kompany added of the opposition. Apart from their 3-1 loss at home to Eintracht Frankfurt, TSG have won every competitive fixture this term, including impressive away triumphs at Bayer Leverkusen (2-1) and Union Berlin (4-2). There are plenty of new faces and a refreshing attacking approach in Sinsheim. Bayern will have to pay particular attention to Fisnik Asllani, who has four goals and two assists in four competitive outings.

Team news

Bayern are still without Alphonso Davies (cruciate ligament), Hiroki Ito (metatarsal) and Jamal Musiala (leg and ankle), as well as Josip Stanišić now after he injured his right knee against Chelsea. Raphael Guerreiro’s involvement is still open following his slight abdominal injury. “We’ll see today with Rapha where he’s at. He hasn’t trained this week. Stani will miss a few games. We hope he’s back after the international break,” Kompany explained.

Hoffenheim have everyone available apart from Adam Hlozek (foot), Koki Machida (cruciate ligament) and Valentin Gendrey (ankle). Ozan Kabak is being slowly brought back up to pace after his lengthy layoff. “He’s making super progress. We’ll then start talking about appearances, but we’re still a little bit off that,” said coach Christian Ilzer at his press conference.
