Carbonero inspires Internacional to eighth with clinical display

Internacional beat Vasco da Gama 4-1 in the Brasileirão to climb from 14th to eighth.
In the 11th minute, Gabriel Mercado's goal was overturned after a VAR review. Johan Carbonero then put Inter ahead (21.), finishing Alexandro Ezequiel Bernabei's breakaway pass, before Alerrandro doubled the lead (24.) from Carbonero's cut-back.
After the restart, Bernabei swept in a third (62.) from Carbonero's pass, and Carbonero added his second (71.) via Alerrandro's assist. Andrés Gómez pulled one back for Vasco (85.) after a Ramon Rique pass.
Carlos Cuesta was sent off in the second minute of stoppage time at the end of the second half.
Vasco enjoyed 60.2% possession but managed only three shots on target from 14 attempts. Inter were efficient, hitting seven shots on target from 12 attempts.
Next, Inter visit Vitória. Vasco travel to Olimpia in the CONMEBOL Sudamericana.
