Flamengo’s Brasileirão derby with Fluminense has been moved to Sunday after the CBF accepted a request from Flamengo, with kick-off now set for 18:00 Brasília time.

The 11th-round fixture at the Maracanã had been scheduled for Saturday 11 at 18:30, but will now be played on Sunday 12 at 18:00, both Brasília time, according to Coluna Do Fla.

Flamengo cited logistical issues after playing in Cusco on Wednesday in the Libertadores, with delays meaning the team only arrived back in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday night.

The Military Police also approved the derby for Sunday. Botafogo are due at Engenhão at 16:00 the same day, but the Military Police judged that security would not be compromised.

Fluminense initially opposed a change, posting a graphic with a caption stating Saturday in capital letters, then edited the message to remove the day once the switch was confirmed.
