CBF names referees for Palmeiras v Fortaleza in Copa do Brasil last 16 | OneFootball

Palmeiras and Fortaleza will meet in the 2026 Copa do Brasil last 16, with the first leg at Nubank Parque and the return away. The federation confirmed on Tuesday that the referees for both ties have been appointed.

The opener is on Sunday 2 August at 16:00 Brasília time at Nubank Parque. Rodrigo Pereira of Pernambuco, a FIFA referee, will take charge. Record: eight games, four wins, two draws and two defeats.

The second leg is on Wednesday 5 August at 21:30 Brasília time at Arena Pantanal. Rafael Klein of Rio Grande do Sul, FIFA listed, will officiate. Record: 12 games, nine wins and three draws.

This will be Palmeiras' 31st campaign in the competition. They lifted the trophy in 1998, 2012, 2015 and 2020.

Palmeiras sit fourth on the list of most Copa do Brasil titles alongside Corinthians, behind Grêmio and Flamengo, both on five, and Cruzeiro with six. Among other São Paulo clubs, Santos, São Paulo, Santo André and Paulista de Jundiaí have one each.

Beyond those four triumphs, Palmeiras were runners-up in 1996. They have been eliminated in the semi-finals four times, the quarter-finals nine times and the last 16 nine times, with exits in the round of 32 twice and the round of 64 once.
