According to Coluna Do Fla, the CBF has set the debut of semi-automatic offside for the 2026 Brasileirão after completing installation and initial tests across 19 Série A stadiums last week.
The system is scheduled to go live after the World Cup, in round 20. Before that, the federation will run trials in the last two rounds of the first half, covering 20 matches.
The technology uses cameras to track player positions and assist VAR on offsides, delivering quicker and more precise decisions. The expectation is that it will reduce refereeing controversy in the league.
It has already been used in the World Cup, the Champions League and the Club World Cup.
Flamengo are second with 31 points after a 3-0 defeat to Palmeiras on Saturday 23, which moved the São Paulo club to 38 at the summit. Flamengo have a game in hand.
Attention now turns to the Libertadores, with Flamengo hosting Cusco of Peru at 21:30 Brasília time on Tuesday 26 in the final round of the group stage at the Maracanã.
