CD Castellón have confirmed the departure of Mamadou Traoré after agreeing to terminate his contract by mutual consent as they reshape the squad for 2026/27. The club said in a statement that the agreement ends his second spell with Castellón.

The Malian forward spent last season on loan at CD Teruel, outside the first-team plans. He made 17 appearances, starting twice, and scored one goal.

Traoré first arrived at SkyFi Castalia in summer 2023 on loan from Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise. He featured in 13 official matches and helped secure promotion to LaLiga Hypermotion in 2024 under Dick Schreuder despite a late injury, scoring in the Copa del Rey against Cacereño and impressing versus Real Oviedo.

After returning to Belgium, he rejoined in January 2025 on a permanent deal running until 2028. Game time was limited, and after six first-team outings he moved to Teruel on loan.

Traoré turned 24 in April. His exit comes on a busy day at SkyFi Castalia, with Álex Calatrava sold to RCD Espanyol in the biggest deal in the club’s history, capping his rise since arriving in 2024.
