FC Barcelona returns to La Liga action as they look for another win following their previous one over Elche in the league. However, since then, the Catalan giants have also been held to a draw by Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League.
To make matters more complicated, their next opponent is none other than Celta Vigo. Moreover, the game will take place away from home for Hansi Flick’s team, and that is certainly a worrying idea considering Barça’s troubled past in this particular stadium.
First things first, Celta Vigo will certainly be looking for a win in this game. Enjoying great form, the team led by Claudio Giraldez has not suffered defeat across their last eight games in all competitions.
In fact, they have won all of their last five games and have done so convincingly enough. From La Liga, to the Copa del Rey and even in the UEFA Europa League, Celta Vigo are flying high right now. With 12 goals scored and only four conceded in their last five games, they are a team that can hurt anyone right now.
Unfortunately for Hansi Flick and his FC Barcelona team, they are not exactly looking invincible right now. Vulnerable defensively and relying on individual brilliance a little too much this season, La Blaugrana really need to get their act together.
In terms of their form, Barça have won three of their last five games, while they have one draw and one loss apart from that. As for their goalscoring ability, Flick’s team has scored 15 goals in those five games and have conceded eight goals in return.
This is hardly the kind of performance or consistency that should be considered sustainable for Barça, and the team really needs to sort themselves out. With this being a crucial game, La Blaugrana need to aim for all three points.
