Andy Robertson has recently been linked with a move to Hull City, with the Liverpool star set to depart Anfield this summer.

Hull City could be set for an interesting summer transfer window ahead, with the Tigers potentially preparing for life back in the Premier League.

The Tigers last played in the top-flight of English football in the 2016/17 campaign, as they were relegated from the Premier League after a disappointing season.

That relegation was Hull's second in the space of three seasons, as they also dropped out of the top-flight in the 2014/15 league campaign, much to the frustration of the club's supporters.

It's taken plenty of time to rebuild over the last few years, but under the management of Sergej Jakirovic, the club are certainly heading in the right direction.

Hull occupy a spot in the Championship play-offs, and will fancy their chances of holding their nerve to confirm their spot in the top six in the second tier this term.

New additions are certainly needed ahead of the 2026/27 season, especially if the club are to win promotion back into the Premier League, and they've already been linked with a move for a former favourite.

In a recent report from TEAMtalk, Hull CIty are rumoured to be keen on signing Andy Robertson, in what would be his second spell with the Tigers.

The Scottish international spent three seasons with Hull earlier in his career, before going on to move to Liverpool in July 2017, in a move that proved to be hugely successful for Robertson.

Robertson has also been linked with a move to the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Scottish giants, Celtic, according to the same report, although it remains to be seen as to which club is leading the race to land his signature.

Football League World's Hull City fan pundit, Cameron Gibson issued his thoughts on the Tigers' interest in re-signing Robertson, and admitted that the move might not be the best for the left-back, but revealed that he would love to see him return to the club.

"If I'm Andy Robertson, the reality is, if you go back to Hull City, we're probably going to get relegated from the Premier League, and he's already got two relegations with Hull City from the Premier League on his CV," Cameron said.

"So, if he was to come back, it's likely that he'd have three relegations on his record. If I was Andy Robertson, I would much rather go and play for Celtic. If he does want to play Premier League football, and Hull City magically end up in the Premier League, then you wouldn't have to ask me twice. I would take him in a heartbeat."

Andy Robertson transfer claim made

Gibson went on to claim that the likes of Brentford, Aston Villa, and Nottingham Forest could all benefit from signing a player of Robertson's quality this summer, but expects the defender to make the move to Celtic ahead of other clubs that are keen on securing his services.

"I'd say that 99% or 100% of Hull City fans would (take him) as well. I think most clubs in the Premier League, that if they got offered Andy Robertson, they'd probably take him. Why wouldn't you go to a team like Brentford, or even a team that's in Europe, like Aston Villa or Nottingham Forest for example.

"I could easily see him going to play for a big club, but I think as a Scottish international, he'll go to the World Cup, and he'll probably end up at Celtic, that's what I think will happen."
