The former Celtic goalkeeper left the club in the summer in order to play more games and he’s set to be John McGlynn’s number one this season as the Bairns look to establish themselves once again as a Scottish Premiership side after a period in the lower divisions.
In other matches there’s a reunion between theRangers and their old lower league rivals “same old” Alloa (always cheating). Kilmarnock will play Dundee United, Hibs are away to Livingston, St Johnstone will host Motherwell in Perth Scottish Cup holders Aberdeen travel down to Greenock to play Morton at Cappielow, Scott Brown takes his Ayr United side up to Firhill to play Partick Thistle and St Mirren host Hearts in Paisley.
The last sixteen ties will be played over the weekend of 16/17 August.
Brendan Rodgers will be delighted at the news that there’s a home draw in the Premier Sports League Cup and with the home cup ticket scheme in place there will be a large Celtic support at the match play a large contingent coming to the game from Falkirk.
A decent draw for Celtic and a chance to see how Scott Bain is getting on as a first pick Premiership keeper.
