Central-PE sign former Flamengo defender Thiago Betim for Série D

Central-PE have signed centre-back Thiago Betim as they shape their squad for this season’s Campeonato Brasileiro Série D.

The club said in a post that the 25-year-old, who featured in the youth ranks at Flamengo and Fortaleza, has joined their ranks.

Central are placed in Group A8 for this year’s Série D alongside ABC-RN, América-RN, Laguna-RN, Sousa-PB and Maguary-PE.

Betim was recruited by Flamengo in 2019 to play for their under-20s after arriving from Real Noroeste in Espírito Santo, but he did not establish himself.

He was then loaned back to Real Noroeste with limited minutes, and later had spells at Fortaleza, Nova Venécia, Sirens of Malta, Vitória-ES, Santa Cruz de Natal, Rio Branco de Venda Nova, Horizonte and Parintins.
