The Champions League’s decisive final league-phase night kicked off at 21:00, with PSG seeking to lock down a top-eight place against Newcastle at the Parc des Princes, while OM and Monaco try to protect play-off spots. According to Le Progres, Marseille are in danger at half-time.

This eighth and final round, in multiplex, will settle the qualifiers. The top eight advance to the last 16, clubs from 9th to 24th head into February play-offs.

Two French sides are in that bracket, OM 19th and Monaco 21st. Marseille, away to Club Bruges, are virtually out at the break at 2-0. Monaco, in a poor run and hosting Juventus Turin, are holding 0-0 at half-time.
