Senegal / CHAN 2024
Souleymane Diallo unveiled on July 21, 2025, the Senegal squad for CHAN 2024, co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. The Senegalese local coach is counting on this group of 25 players to defend the title won in 2022.
The local Lions are heading into this title defense with a largely revamped roster. Serigne Moctar Koité from Jaraaf is the sole survivor from the team crowned African champions two years ago. The backbone of this squad is drawn from several leading clubs in Senegalese football. Teungueth FC provides four representatives, including Layouss Samb, Marc P. A. Diouf, Baye Assane Ciss, and Libasse Gueye. US Gorée is also strongly represented with Samba Mballo, Seyni Mbaye Ndiaye, Oumar Ba, and Vieux Cisse. Jaraaf contributes four players: Mbaye Ndiaye, Serigne Moctar Koité, Ababacar Sarr, and Ameth Niang.
Senegal's journey at the 2024 African Nations Championship, scheduled from August 2 to 30, 2025, will kick off in Group D. Souleymane Diallo's men will face Nigeria, Congo, and Sudan in the group stage.
