Championship new boys Charlton Athletic have been offered the services of departing West Ham United goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, according to journalist Richard Cawley.
Nathan Jones is preparing his Charlton squad for life back in the Championship after they won promotion through the League One playoffs.
Jones will want to make sure he has enough know-how to keep the Addicks away from relegation danger.
Derby County, Oxford United and Portsmouth were all at risk of relegation straight back down to League One at points in the campaign.
Charlton have now been offered the services of goalkeeper Fabianski, who has spent the last 18 seasons in the Premier League.
The shot-stopper is leaving West Ham when his contract with the Hammers runs out at the end of the month.
The 40-year-old custodian wants to stay in London and his agents are trying their best to make that happen.
However, at present, it does not appear there is any progress on a move for Fabianski to Charlton.
The Addicks will take on Dartford and Cambridge United in pre-season friendlies later this summer as they shape up for the new campaign.
Cambridge, who were relegated from League One, will host Charlton at the Abbey on 26th July, while the Dartford game will represent the Addicks’ first friendly of the summer, on 12th July.
It remains to be seen if Charlton do have a new goalkeeper between the sticks when they face Dartford in their friendly clash.
Fabianski could have proven to be an intriguing signing given his substantial Premier League experience and all eyes will on whether any progress is made on that front.
