In a recent report on Substack, journalist Simon Phillips claimed that Chelsea are keeping a keen eye on West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen. It is understood that the Blues are eyeing a move to secure the services of the English speedster this summer.

Bowen’s Impressive Form In English Football

Bowen has enjoyed an up-and-down season at the East London club, but has managed to put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 29-year-old has found the back of the net ten times and earned nine assists in 36 matches for West Ham during this campaign across multiple competitions.

The English talent remains one of the most feared wingers in the Premier League. Therefore, the Blues would do well to lure him to Stamford Bridge in the upcoming transfer window.

His current contract at the London Stadium will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for Chelsea to sign him on a cut-price deal at the end of this season.

What Will Bowen Bring To Chelsea?

Bowen has got the pace to cause a few headaches for his marker out in the wide areas. He has got the vision to engineer some inviting chances for his teammates to score and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The English sensation can shoot the ball with venom from long range and can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals in the final third. Bowen is primarily a right-winger but can also serve as a centre-forward if told to do so. He already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Stamford Bridge.

Bowen would bring more pace and goals to Chelsea‘s frontline. He is more than capable of fighting for a regular first-team spot at Stamford Bridge in the coming years.

At 29, Bowen is playing in his prime, which makes him a worthy target for the Blues to pursue at the end of this campaign. However, he would only ease the West London club’s attacking concerns in the short term. Another option for the Blues would be go for someone younger so that they can build for the future.
