EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea now looking at move for 6ft 4in France Olympic Team international defender!!

Cole Palmer was back in fine form for Chelsea and is one of the reasons that they put in such a good performance, with the stats proving this as well.

Palmer was also involved in Chelsea’s first goal of the game in the opening minutes, as well as some good work by Romeo Lavia and Pedro Neto to setup Enzo Fernandez to provide a lovely finish to get things going.

After a barren run of form from Chelsea’s main man, Palmer was certainly back at it on Sunday afternoon, taking the game by the scruff of the neck and pulling the strings for Chelsea once again. He put in a man of the match performance and it became complete by getting the late goal at the end through a penalty.

Chelsea needed Palmer back and it is perfect timing as he can now hopefully push them over the line to get Champions League football next season.

Owen reacts

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen was covering the game, and he has reacted to Palmer’s performance and the win by Chelsea.

Owen said via the Premier League’s official website (6:34pm, 4 May): “Cole Palmer was very good today, he deserved to be on the winning side. Chelsea deserved to win but Liverpool put up a performance, you can see they’re champions through their attitude today.”

Owen later commented on Palmer (6:49pm): “I can guarantee he doesn’t feel the pressure. If I go out onto the pitch and feel my team-mates are thinking we need you today, I feel as if I’m going onto the pitch as though I can’t fail. It’s a responsibility. It’s great to feel like you’re needed.”
