Plenty of Chelsea fans are frustrated by their club’s constant targeting of young talent instead of established quality.
We wonder what they’ll make of this latest rumour? According to TeamTalk, the Blues have a kid who only turned 16 a month ago on their radar.
To be fair, it’s not any ordinary teenager. Eirik Granaas is already getting senior appearances Fredrikstad FK in the Norwegian top flight, after making his debut last summer. He’s even played in the Europa League – he’s the youngest player in European competition ever, according to most stats sites.
Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool are also linked in this article. In a similar way to his countryman Martin Odegaard ten years ago, one imagines that there could be a real bidding war for the youngster as he continues to develop. He will have his pick of big teams.
Granaas would not be able to move until 2028, but Chelsea could line up the deal for a future date as they did with Estevao a couple of years.
Matt Law outline the three prime candidates for the Chelsea job, with all of them “confirmed” as on the club’s shortlist.
There are some interesting thoughts about Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro’s link up in the Athletic this week, with the pair not yet clicking.
