- The charges primarily concern alleged breaches of agent regulations and third-party investment rules.
- The conduct under investigation spans from 2009 to 2022, largely occurring between the 2010/11 and 2015/16 seasons, during Roman Abramovich's ownership.
- Chelsea's current ownership group self-reported these historical financial irregularities to the FA and other regulators following their due diligence process.
- The club has been given until 19 September to formally respond to the charges from the Football Association.
