Chelsea ‘open talks’ for Inter and Man City target Palestra

Chelsea have entered the race for Atalanta right-back Marco Palestra, making preliminary contact with his agent, according to Sky Sport Italia.

Palestra spent 2025-26 on loan at Cagliari, emerging as one of Serie A’s most promising defenders and drawing interest from Inter and Manchester City.

Atalanta’s valuation is believed to exceed €50m. Palestra is represented by Alessandro Lucci, who also acts for Arsenal’s Riccardo Calafiori.

The defender is said to prefer staying in Serie A, so his priority is to wait for Inter and Atalanta to agree a fee. Atalanta are prepared to sell, but Inter are yet to reach an agreement.

Palestra made his senior Italy debut in March 2026 and has two international appearances.
